You do have the option to sign up for service without taking an 18 month commitment. If you choose not to sign an 18 month commitment, we would still like your business however you will not receive the following.
1) NO $50 credit on your first months bill
2) NO FREE Dish Home Protection plan for the first 18 months.
3) NO DVR Advantage Savings
4) DISHSTORE Exclusive Rebate reduced from $50 to $25.
We understand alot of customers do not want to be commited for 18 months, however signing an 18 month agreement is not as bad as you may think. First of all the cancellation fee is only $240, and this is actually pro-rated at the rate of $13.33 for every month remaining in your contract.
Now consider, the credits are $75 less if you take no commitment, so if you subtract the benifits from taking an 18 month commitment from the $240 cancellation fee it only comes out to a $165 difference.
If you take $165, and divide it by the pro-rated cancellation fee of $13.33/mo, you would need to keep the service 13 months. (If you where to take the initial savings and apply it towards cancellation fees).
